On paper, the D2X looks really great and certainly meets my expectations. Only time and testing will tell and I'll wait for the verdict to come in before I buy one. However, I'll be saving my pennies in anticipation that this camera will perform well. Nikon has not released any price information to their dealers but one told me to expect this puppy to be in the $4000 - $5000 price range.
If this is as good as it looks perhaps Nikon users will be in the same boat as Canon users when it comes to finding new and used lenses. Now might be the time to pick up some good "surplus" Nikkor lenses that are all over the place.
I see that the D2X will be using a CMOS sensor instead of a CCD. As a relative neophyte to digital photography I'm curious as to why they did this.
Anyway, these are exciting times and this is exciting news. Hopefully the D2X will be a superb performer and I'll only have to buy the body instead of changing brands and having to buy everything all over again.

Hello everybody,
My wife who is on H4 was denied admission to a masters in accounting program due to lack of work experience. Other factors (GPA/GMAT scores) were allright according to a professor at the university! Does anybody know how/where she can get some experience (voluntary/unpaid/intership). We have already looked at craigslist job listing in the non-profit sector and not many people are looking to hire even if its unpaid:eek: We reside in Raleigh/NC and was wondering if someone in this forum has some insight as to how we can move forward.

Pineapple, although I dont have a solution to your problem I can definitely say that something is better than nothing. The senate dont have a problem with legal immigration, as long it is legal. If we can get our EB provisions as a part of this bill, most of them will be happy. There will quirks that can apply to immigrants as well, but that has to be addresed by the part of overall nature of the bill.

Hello,
I am working with A on h1b and the visa expires on May 1st 2010.
Recently I got another offer with B and they filed my h1b transfer (regular).
The offer they gave me verbally is different from what's on the offer letter, when I contacted them there insist that they never "promised" , so I did not want to take that offer now.
Can I now ask employer A to file the extension and continue working with A?. Will that create any issues if the transfer with B gets Approved/rejected?. or is there any alternate?. Please help.

There is nothing like H1 transfer. Each petition is separate. Company B filing H1 does not invalidate your H1 from Company A. Your original H1 will still be valid even if H1 from company B is approved/denied. You can just continue working with company A and file extension when its due...

what about the july 07 fiasco filers..i know GC will only be given when visa numbers are available but atleast if 485 is approved we know we are half way thru...no matter the files will be licking the dust for years..gurus please share.

You can file 485 only from within USA. So I believe you will be back to USA before filing 485.

You will get a 3 year H1 with new company if you have an approved labor and approved I 140 with any company. Any company really means any company. If you have worked or not, have an H1 or not, etc. etc - nothing matters.
To get a 3 year H1, you need an approved labor and 140 from SOME employer, whether its your past employer, your current employer or a future employer.

Did anyone get their 140 approved from Vermont?
My 140 and 485 were filed late July 07 in Nebrasks and I got notices stating the 485 was transferred to Texas and 140 was being processed in Vermont.
The Vermont processing time for 140s has been stagnant at April 2006 for a long time.
Wondering if anyone has any updates on this.

I just called USCIS to check the status of my case and the Immigration Officer said it is in EB-1 category. I know my case is EB-2.
I asked the IO to see if i have send any paperwork to rectify their mistake, but she said USCIS will automatically adjust the category whe it picks up the case for review
I am confused. Please Advice
